SWAT and Homeland Security team up in Salinas for drug trafficking investigation

SALINAS, Calif. —Update: According to police, four people were arrested in the Salinas-area in connection with a narcotics investigation.
In Yuma, two more people were arrested for the same investigation.

“The individuals arrested during this operation are facing various drug trafficking and possession of weapons charges,” said police.

A heavy law enforcement presence was seen across Salinas as multiple search warrants were issued, Thursday morning.

According to the Salinas Police Department, SWAT and Homeland Security Investigations teamed up with local agencies to execute five search warrants across the city.

Police said the warrants were related to a drug trafficking investigation.

Police said that Homeland Security investigators also issued four search warrants at four Arizona homes near Yuma.
